Comparison is one of the quietest battles women fight, yet it is one of the loudest voices in their minds.
It whispers, “You’re not enough.”
It asks, “Why her and not you?”
It convinces women that someone else’s success somehow diminishes their own.
That is why Episode 1 of our July series, “Women’s Ministry No One Wants to Talk About,” began with a conversation many avoid but nearly every woman has faced: Comparison Is a Mental Prison.
Meet Our Guest
We were honored to welcome Prophetess Shakira Birge, a native of Cleveland, Mississippi.
Having been exposed to ministry from an early age, Prophetess Shakira developed a deep passion for pursuing God and serving His people. She is the founder of Iron Sisters Connect, a ministry committed to sharpening women and girls through the Word of God, prayer, encouragement, and prophetic insight.
She is also the author of Iron Sisters, a 30-day devotional created to strengthen women in their biblical faith and daily Christian walk. Prophetess Shakira faithfully serves at House of Prayer FAP Church International in Cleveland, Mississippi, under the leadership of Apostle Joseph L. Young.
Her wisdom, transparency, and love for God’s people were evident throughout the conversation.

God gives mentors and examples to inspire us, but He never intended for us to abandon our own identity.
As Prophetess Shakira explained:
Instead of asking, “Why can’t I be like her?” we should ask, “Lord, how do You want to use me?”

Freedom Begins with Identity

You cannot fully walk in your purpose while trying to imitate someone else’s.
God never called us to compete with one another.
He called us to complete the assignment He has given each of us.
When our identity is rooted in Christ, we can celebrate another woman’s success without feeling threatened by it.
A Prayer That Shook the Network
The interview concluded with a heartfelt prayer from Prophetess Shakira that resonated deeply with viewers.
She prayed for healing from insecurity, freedom from comparison, renewed identity in Christ, and the courage for women to fully embrace God’s purpose for their lives.

Comparison is a prison only when we choose to live behind its walls.
Jesus came to set us free—not only from sin, but also from insecurity, fear, jealousy, and every lie that tells us we are less than who God says we are.
Your calling is unique.
Your journey is intentional.
Your purpose cannot be replaced by someone else’s.
Stop comparing.
Start becoming.
