I’m Shenelle, the voice and heart behind It’s Been a Journey—a podcast created from the cracks in my own story. I’m a five-time bride, four-time divorcee, a mother, a daughter, a woman who has lived through teenage motherhood, emotional and physical abuse, rape, infertility, and the unimaginable pain of loss and grief. And yet, by God’s grace, I’m still standing—and speaking.
This podcast is my open journal. A space where pain meets purpose and broken pieces are laid bare so that others may find their healing. It’s Been a Journey isn’t just about me—it’s about us. Those of us who have walked through fire, wept behind closed doors, screamed in silence, and still kept going.
Every episode is an invitation:
To tell the truth about what hurt.
To unmask the shame.
To laugh again—even in our healing.
And to remember that God never wasted a wound.
The Story Behind Journey
I started It’s Been a Journey because I was tired of pretending. I needed a space where I—and others like me—could speak freely about what it means to heal when life has been anything but gentle. Through raw storytelling, spiritual insight, and candid guest conversations, this podcast is a sanctuary for anyone navigating divorce, grief, trauma, self-doubt, or the quiet battles no one else sees.
This isn’t just a podcast. It’s a movement.
A safe space.
A healing room.
A community for those rebuilding their lives—piece by piece and prayer by prayer.
